Fix Auto UK’s racing driver Jac Constable got his 2019 season off to the best possible start when he stepped onto the podium while making his debut in the Radical SR3 Challenge Championship last weekend.

By Jac’s own admission, the first event at Donington Park was all about finding his feet as part of his transition to the Radical car. But his ability to adapt to a completely new style of racing was instantly apparent when he recorded two fourth place finishes followed by a second.

Jac said: “Making the move into the Radical is a completely new start for me and the team. Our goal when we arrived at Donington was to learn more about the car and how to set it up in order to get the best out of it. At best, we believed we could get some valuable points on the board which would be a firm foundation for the season ahead. We never thought we would be actually up there contesting for a win, which is exactly where we found ourselves.”

Jac then explained: “We recognised the mountain we faced during qualifying when the leading drivers were more than a second a lap faster than our car. But the team worked with the car’s set up prior to each race and then the tactics involved in when to take the enforced pitstop helped us gain places. The racing itself was as fast and exciting as I could have hoped for.”

While Jac travels to Germany this week to start his journey to compete in the VLN Endurance Championship staged at the Nürburgring, he is extremely optimistic of repeating his most recent success at the second round of the Radical SR3 Challenge Championship at Snetterton on May 11/12.
