FIX AUTO UK RE-ESTABLISHES ITSELF IN READING

Reading Accident Repairs co-owner Paul Carkett has fulfilled a long-held ambition to join Fix Auto UK.

Along with business partner David Benjamin, the duo have joined the network and will now operate as Fix Auto Reading.

Paul, who bought the business from its founder in 2003, said: “I’ve long followed Fix Auto UK’s progression and kept a keen eye on how the network has grown, especially how its franchisees have continued to flourish. It’s something I have wanted to be part of for a long time and I am thrilled that we can now call ourselves a Fix Auto UK franchisee.

The former panel technician first joined the operation as its bodyshop manager but took the opportunity to take over the business 15 years ago with David joining him as an equal partner in 2006. Together they run the 12,000 sq ft repair centre which repairs up to 30 vehicles a week.  The centre is fully approved by the Volkswagen Group and also holds manufacturer approvals for Honda, Nissan, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Chrysler.

David, who turned to the industry following a career in catering, said: “Being part of a network has to be the way forward for our industry. Paul and myself have great plans for the business but, if we are truthful to ourselves, we recognise we need help, support and guidance if we are to fulfil our business’s true potential. Being part of Fix Auto UK will provide us with the added tools and support we need.”

Head of Fix Auto UK’s Franchise Development, Mark Hutchins said: “Fix Auto UK has previously had a presence in Reading and we are delighted to have Paul, David and their team on board to re-establish ourselves there. I know Paul has long admired the network and joins us with the right attitude to succeed. I am sure Fix Auto Reading will be a great asset to the network.”
