FIX AUTO UK’S RACING DRIVER JAC CONSTABLE PRODUCES ‘DRIVE OF HIS LIFE’ TO MAINTAIN CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENTION
Fix Auto UK’s racing driver Jac Constable delivered a standout drive at the latest round of the Radical Challenge Championship, after battling back from last place on the grid to finish second during the final round of the weekend held at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
Luck failed Jac in the weekend’s opening race as a rival spun and forced him off the track. However, he drove back up the order from 16th place to finish a credible seventh. Unfortunately, he couldn’t repeat this in the second race which he failed to finish following a tussle with a rival.
Starting the third and final race of the weekend at the back of the grid, Jac “drove the race of his life” to make his way through the field and record his sixth podium of the season. This has kept him in contention for the overall championship in this, his debut season driving in Radical Challenge Championship.
Commenting on his weekend in Belgium, Jac said: “It’s a great circuit, one of my better ones in fact and, after experiencing such a disappointing weekend leading up to the third race, to go and put in a drive like I did, coming from the back of the grid to second, meant a lot to my team and myself.”
He added: “I messed up in qualifying which was entirely my fault and is something I’ve learnt from. I started from fifth in the first race and finished seventh which, when you consider I was sitting in 16th place at one point, was damage limitation. In the second race, I had a few battles with another driver, I came off worse and did not finish, so to fight from last place in the final race to finish second was an amazing achievement.”
Jac will be back in action on home soil when the fourth round of the championship is contested at Oulton Park, Cheshire, on July 20.
