Fix Auto UK has revealed its five-speaker line up for its 2019 National Conference.

The annual event will be held for the first time at Silverstone - the home of the British Motor Racing on Thursday 17 October and will be themed around ‘Building on Success’.

The event will be headlined by former Special Forces elite commando turned TV celebrity Ollie Ollerton, who stars as one of the team of experts on the hugely popular Channel 4 programme SAS: Who Dares Wins. The topic of Ollie’s presentation will be ‘Nothing Will Stand Between You and Your Goals’.

Nick Leeson, the financial trader famed for the collapse of Barings Bank during the 1990’s, will talk about his experiences and provide a fascinating insight into serious misgivings by senior and middle management at large organisations. He will particularly highlight the perils companies face for failing to protect shareholders, owners and customers by not having the right controls within a business.

The hugely successful businesswoman Alex Depledge MBE, who along with her business partner, built up an online business which they sold for £31.5 million, will be talking around the theme of ‘Can anyone be an Entrepreneur?’.

Steve Young who represents ICDP, an international research-based organisation focussed on automotive distribution, will speak about the challenges driven by technology change. Carl Brabander, Head of Global Franchise Development for Fix Network World will provide an update on the organisation. For the third successive year, former F1 driver and original BBC Top Gear ‘Stig’ Perry McCarthy will moderate the event.

Ian Pugh of Fix Auto UK said: “We are moving to the Silverstone Wing for 2019 due to the growing demand for sponsor and delegate places at our event. We have simply outgrown our previous venue. The Marketing team have built an agenda of key speakers who are able to deliver entertaining and inspiring lectures. I am confident that everyone in the room will once again be taking ideas back and implementing them in their businesses.  I am pleased we have a record number of supplier partners supporting us again this year including our Diamond Sponsor AkzoNobel and Platinum Sponsors 3M, Audatex and S&G Response. Without the support of our supplier partners, we wouldn’t be able to make this event happen each year.”
