A foursome headed by Fix Auto Birmingham East owner Ben Healey triumphed against a field of 36 golfers who took part in the second annual Fix Auto UK golf competition and, in doing so, became the latest team to book themselves a place in the inaugural Ezi Methods Golf Challenge designed to find the best golfer in the business.

Ben, along with fleet managers Dave Underwood, of Turner Aviation, and Clayton Redhead, of Dunlop Aircraft Tyres, and Anthony Cunnington of Swift Abrasives, won the fourball stableford competition with a score of 85, 10 points clear of Dave Owen, of Fix Auto UK, Michael Balfour of Fix Auto Ayr, Fix Auto Leicester’s Managing Director Kevin Shaw and Wesley Young of AGM Services.

Mark Willis, playing on behalf of key sponsor Advantage Parts Solutions, Simon Taylor representing Stellantis, Glen Matthews and Dave Smith playing for Volvo, were third with a score of 74. Simon won the nearest the pin challenge sponsored by AGM Services.

The network’s second annual summer golf event was staged at prestigious Belfry complex, the venue for four Ryder Cup competitions and the field was made up from players who are key suppliers, senior Fix Auto UK management and Fix Auto UK Franchise Partners.

Fix Auto UK’s Operations Director Mark Hutchins, who took part in the event, said: “I’m new to the game but I can fully see why it’s firmly established as a great way to interact and network with colleagues and friends from within the industry. The Belfry was sublime, only matched by those who joined us. Our congratulations go to Ben and his team and we wish them all the best for the Ezi Methods challenge.”

Success for the winning foursome ensures they will now head to the Old Thorns Golf Club in Hampshire on September 27, for the inaugural Ezi Methods Industry Golf Challenge, an event devised to bring together winning teams from various ‘qualifier’ annual industry golf days in order to find out who is the best golfer in the vehicle repair sector.

Ben Cardy, Commercial Director and Ezi Methods co-founder, commented: “Thanks to Fix Auto UK and similar annual events staged by Morelli, Stellantis and CAPS, the field is beginning to shape up nicely. The countdown is now finally on where we’ll be able to toast the best golfers in the sector.”
