Leading the charity charge… Fix Auto Dagenham directors Chris Oliver (front) and Paul Cunningham are appealing for industry support after completing the formidable Ride100 bike ride in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
Fix Auto Dagenham Directors Chris Oliver and Paul Cunningham maybe a little saddle sore after completing an incredible 100-mile cycling challenge, but the dynamic duo are continuing to push ahead with their latest fundraising drive.
For Chris and Paul rode side-by-side and completed their longest bike rides yet after successfully completing the formidable Ride100, known officially as the Ford Ride London to Essex Challenge, a formidable challenge whereby 25,000 riders set off from the centre of the capital out to Braintree before returning and riding across Tower Bridge and across the finishing line.
So far, they have raised £2,000 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, but they believe with the support of the industry they can generate far more.
Said Paul: “Both Chris and myself are keen cyclists but we’ve never attempted 100 miles before so to complete the challenge is a huge achievement for both of us. While we are incredibly humbled by the support we have received from family, friends and colleagues, it would be super to be able to increase that £2,000 figure.”
He added: “Chris, myself and the team are passionate about supporting the Bone Cancer Research Trust, an organisation that is extremely close to our hearts as Melissa, Chris’s daughter, spent all of her teenage years fighting this terrible disease. The Bone Cancer Research Trust helped Mel immensely and are completely dedicated to improving outcomes for all those affected by bone cancer through their pioneering research and supportive care initiatives.”
The Bone Cancer Research Trust is the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer. Their mission encompasses funding ground-breaking research, providing vital information and support to patients and families, and raising public awareness about this rare but devastating disease.
Donations can be made through the dedicated fundraising pages Bone Cancer Research Trust: Paul’s page (enthuse.com) & https://ow.ly/izix50RPvBS and every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference in the fight against bone cancer.
