Fix Auto Basingstoke Developing Super Sustainable Bodyshop

Fix Auto Basingstoke has revealed plans to move into a brand new, purpose built, repair centre its owner believes will be one of the most sustainable and eco-efficient bodyshops in the UK.

The 24,000 sq ft facility – which is more than double the size of the company’s existing facility in Edison Road, Basingstoke, will be solely powered by a solar energy system its owner Dale Morris states will generate enough electricity to sustain the entire business all year and will dramatically reduce its carbon footprint.

The new, state-of-the-art repair centre will be in Wade Road, Basingstoke, less than 500 metres from Dale’s second site, Fix Auto UK’s only solus van and commercial vehicle repair centre he opened in February 2024. It will feature eight electric vehicle charging bays and a bespoke tech area developed specifically for repairing EVs.

Construction is progressing at a pace with design and layout focused on extreme efficiencies with plans to be fully operational by mid-December.

He said: “We have been firmly established here in Edison Road since 2018 and the site has served us extremely well, but it does have its restrictions, especially when we look towards the future, which is why we developed the commercial vehicle centre in 2024.

“The new site will firmly future proof our operation. For several years now we have strived to run as eco-friendly business as possible having invested in numerous initiatives and systems but, in truth, in my mind, the building simply doesn’t meet our future plans for complete sustainability. Our new site will simply be a bodyshop for the future here today.”
