Two and a half years after joining Fix Auto UK and its Kent-based repairer Fix Auto Sittingbourne has relocated to a new site that effectively doubles the size of the operation.
Significantly, the move to the 10,000sq ft centre strategically positioned near to the town’s main road network, has enabled the business to diversify into repairing LCVs, campervans, large motorhomes and even HGV cabs.
Today the business boasts a team of 21 repairing up to 120 vehicles a month with scope for more which is a far cry from the company that joined the network in May 2022 with just four productives that also included Director Chad Bishop repairing approximately 20 cars a month.
The move to the new site has also included a significant programme of investment that includes four-wheel alignment and ADAS systems along with the installation of a third spray booth to accompany the two existing booths, one of which is a 12 metre long, six-metre-high unit that accommodates most vehicles on our roads.
“We joined Fix Auto UK hoping the move would totally transform our business,” commented Chad, “where we were once just repairing retail jobs and a small number of fleet vehicles, today we are fully immersed in the insurance sector too. We have gained the confidence to diversify into other areas such as LCVs and motorhomes which is now a significant part of our business proposition.”
He added: “While our old site served us well, in truth we were restricted by its size and layout that hampered our workflow. The new site is just perfect for our needs and certainly future proofs our business as there’s scope and space to develop further should we need to.”
Fellow Director Lee Cooper, added: “The new centre takes our proposition to another level. It really is a centre of excellence and one we’re all extremely proud of.
“We joined Fix Auto UK with the ambition to grow and develop, it was never our intention to stand still. Being part of the network has given us a position in the industry that we never had before but, more importantly, the confidence we needed to make that investment sooner rather than later.”
Ian Pugh, Managing Director for Fix Auto UK, added: “To hear how a repairer has flourished and transformed their business proposition since joining the network is truly inspirational. It really is what we’re here for and it’s what we’re about.
“What the team there have achieved in such as relatively short space of time is incredibly impressive and while we have helped their journey, their success is down to their hard work, determination and commitment. The new site and their ongoing investments really have elevated the business to a whole new level.”
