Fix Auto Peterborough Expands With Major Investment to Further Boost Productivity

Fix Auto Peterborough has become the latest repairer within the Fix Auto UK Group to announce a significant investment in its facilities, a move that is expected to increase productivity by up to 40 per cent.

The Cambridgeshire-based repair centre has invested in four external work pods to maximise capacity at its existing site. The new additions include an extra spray booth, a dedicated mechanical, a MET preparation bay, and an additional repair work bay.

The expansion will enable the business to significantly increase throughput while enhancing operational efficiency. To support the additional capacity, the repairer has already recruited an extra technician and plans to appoint a further productive team member in the coming weeks.

Managed by Barry Monk, Fix Auto Peterborough has enjoyed sustained growth in recent years and has effectively outgrown its existing 5,500 sq ft facility. Rather than relocate, the business has chosen to maximise its current footprint through the installation of the modular pod system, creating valuable additional workspace without disrupting day-to-day operations.

Commenting on the investment, Barry said: “We’ve experienced sustained growth over the past few years, which is fantastic for the business, but it has meant we’re regularly pushing our existing workshop to its limits. Relocating wasn’t the right option for us, so investing in the new additional work pods allows us to maximise the space we already have while creating the extra capacity we need.

It will improve the flow of repairs through the business and enable us to repair more vehicles without compromising the quality or service our customers and insurer partners expect. It also gives us the confidence to grow our team, creating new employment opportunities and ensuring we’re well placed for future growth.”
