Sustainability & Environmental Commitment
At Fix Auto, our respect for nature goes beyond words. We are committed to preserving the environment and have been since 1994. Environmental responsibility is deeply embedded in our code of ethics and is reflected in our goals: fostering eco-friendly relationships with our suppliers, designing our operations to respect the vehicle’s life cycle and evolving our organization towards sustainable development.
These commitments translate into tangible actions, such as using green parts, effective waste management, recycling raw materials, maintaining responsible shops and utilizing environmentally-friendly paint. Due to the scale of our network, these collective actions have led to significant, positive impacts on the environment.
Responsible Shops
Aligned with our commitment to quality, Fix Auto offers green parts, which are an environmentally and economically friendly solution. These are sourced from pre-damaged vehicles and seamlessly replace damaged parts. The use of top-quality green parts reduces waste. It also saves energy that would otherwise be used to restore or manufacture new parts.
Network-Scale Recycling
Fix Auto is committed to recycling parts and materials across its entire network. Our body shops recover hundreds of thousands of tons of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, glass, bumpers, tires, and plastics each year. Additionally, we recycle cardboard in our shops and offices, significantly reducing the generation of non-biodegradable waste.
No Hazardous Waste
At Fix Auto, we have a zero-tolerance policy for hazardous waste. We adhere to the highest standards for handling, storing, and collecting waste that poses environmental risks. Everything from paint slurries, used solvents, soiled equipment, to batteries undergoes controlled treatment.
Environmental Paint
Since 2006, we have been retrofitting our shops to reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions associated with paint use. All Fix Auto locations are ready to transition to environmental paint, having completed necessary training for its application. Fix Auto is poised to become the first body shop network to fully embrace environmental paint.
Aiming for Paperless
Leveraging advanced computing systems, we manage and automate administrative procedures, significantly reducing paper usage. Our goal is to achieve 100% electronic file management in Canada and across our global network. We’ve developed digital solutions to allow insurers direct access to their files, resulting in further savings and helping our partners join our efforts to protect the environment.
