BLAINVILLE (QC) July 7, 2021 – Fix Network World, the global automotive aftermarket leader, is pleased to announce that the company’s crisis communication efforts for the COVID-19 pandemic have received industry recognition from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Award program. The awards were presented at a virtual Excellence Gala last week.
For more than 40 years, IABC’s Gold Quill Awards have celebrated excellence in communication worldwide by recognizing innovative, strategic work that delivers significant business results. The program is considered as one of the most prestigious initiatives in the communications profession globally, receiving almost 500 entries from 22 countries.
When COVID-19 struck, the majority of Fix Network World’s businesses were considered essential services and remained open during the pandemic. The award entry, “Recovery & Resilience: COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan,” focused on the company’s efforts to help its franchisees adapt to government mandated restrictions, comply with new safety operational protocols, and minimize economic impact to their business.
“The awards honor the speed and agility of our communications team which adapted and responded to this global catastrophe, delivering clear communications to both franchisees and staff regularly,” says Steve Leal, President and CEO of Fix Network World. “Managing a large global network like ours is quite a challenge and I am exceptionally proud that our team has pulled out all the stops to ensure that our global family stays informed of everything that has been happening around us.”
The entry received an IABC Gold Quill Award of Excellence and a Best of the Best Award in the COVID-19 Response & Recovery Management and Communication category. Recommended by evaluators and reviewed by the Gold Quill Awards chair, vice chair and past chair, the Best of the Best winners represent the very best entries seen across the globe. There are only seven Best of the Best awards granted each year.
“Our approach during this challenging time has always been to deliver consistent and positive communications, keeping in mind the uncertainty prevailing among businesses,” explains Maliha Aqeel, Director of Global Communications and Digital Channels for Fix Network World. “By coordinating between different departments and stakeholders within the network, we have been able to ensure that our responses have a deep and meaningful impact.”
In addition to the Gold Quill honors, the program was also recognized by IABC/Toronto with an OVATION Award of Merit in COVID-19 Response & Recovery Management and Communication.
