THE DOORS ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN AT THE FIRST EVER FIX NETWORK CANADA TRAINING CENTRE

Welcoming trade colleges, suppliers, insurance partners, franchise owners and many others, Fix Network held a grand opening event celebrating their industry leading training centre.

MILTON (Ontario), October 11, 2019 – On October 1st, over 100 guests attended the Fix Network Canada Training Centre grand opening in Milton, Ontario. This centre is not only a first for the Network, but the first of its kind in the automotive aftermarket services industry. At 6,400 square feet of dedicated shop space plus a 20 seat classroom/learning centre, this facility will provide a complete educational and development space for each of Fix Network’s lines of business: collision repair, automotive glass repair and replacement, and automotive mechanical services. “The Fix Network team are pioneers in the industry; we’re the first to have all three services under one roof, the first to introduce a vehicle diagnostic system that only takes seconds and now the first to open a multi-disciplined training centre to ensure our shops have access to ongoing learning and development for their teams,” said Steve Leal, President and CEO Fix Network World.

As vehicles continue to advance and the workforce changes, the need for a facility to help technicians keep pace with the complexity of repairs in collision, glass and mechanical is imperative. “We are pleased to collaborate with Fix Network to celebrate their leadership and the grand opening of their new Training Centre. They are an excellent example of a company taking proactive steps to develop and deliver solutions to address the skills shortage. Skills Ontario is also focused on skills solutions and works to encourage our province’s youth to explore their career opportunities and consider a skilled trade or technology career. We appreciate the opportunity to work with Fix Network as we can accomplish more through collaboration, cooperation, and coordination. I wish Fix Network all the best in this new venture,” said Ian Howcroft, CEO of Skills Ontario.

The training centre consists of three dedicated spaces for collision, glass and mechanical training. The entire facility is outfitted with the latest tools and technology to repair and service any vehicle that rolls through the shop door. While each trade is different, the one thing they have in common is today’s modern, complex vehicles. “Vehicles today are so technologically advanced that a simple repair is no longer an option in most cases,” noted Daryll O’Keefe Regional Vice President for Fix Network Ontario & Manitoba. “We have to ensure the technicians that come here have the tools and training they need. For this reason, our team worked with our supplier partners to provide our facility with the most advanced diagnostic and repair technology available today.”

The purpose of this training centre is to give new as well as seasoned technicians the opportunity to update their skills and knowledge. Depending on their experience and skill level, technicians could spend anywhere from a few weeks to a year at the training centre. While this is the first Fix Network Training Centre to officially open its doors, the Quebec facility in Blainville is set to open in mere weeks. There is also a third location planned for Western Canada and will open in Calgary in 2020.

“We believe in investing not only in our network but also in the industry. These Training Centres across the country are a true testament to our commitment to the overall well-being and advancement of the automotive aftermarket services industry as a whole,” concluded Leal.
