The Fix Automotive Network Canada team joins forces to support Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) Canada.

BLAINVILLE (Quebec), January 16, 2019 – Steve Leal, President and CEO of Fix Network World is very proud to share that the Fix Automotive Network (FAN) Canada family of franchise strategic partners and head office staff, along with some of their supply and insurance partners, have come together to raise $75,087 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities® Canada in 2018.

“We were so pleased to expand our partnership with RMHC to include all our Canadian brands this past fall,” said Leal. “Now all of our franchise strategic partners from Fix Auto, Speedy Auto Service and NOVUS Glass are on board to help families stay close while their child undergoes medical treatment. I am very proud of our team’s efforts in 2018 to raise over $75,000 and volunteer many hours to this important organization.”

The FAN team believes that giving back to their communities is a commitment that spans the entire year. Shops from coast to coast have donated money, time, household items and games to help thousands of families stay close to their sick child and the care they need. Raising money through draws and auctions at company functions, sponsoring RMHC events in local communities and volunteering for the popular Home for Dinner initiative are just a few of the ways the FAN family is giving back to RMHC. There are over 25,000 families from more than 1,800 communities across Canada that call RMHC Houses home each year. However, the need continues to grow with over 2,800 families having been turned away in 2017; that’s seven families per night.

“Our goal is to ensure that families with sick children across Canada can stay close to each other and close to the care they need, so we’re grateful to the Fix Automotive Network community for this much-valued and meaningful support,” said Kate Horton, Executive Director, RMHC Canada.

This partnership establishes RMHC Canada as the charity of choice for the Fix Automotive Network and encourages franchise strategic partners, their employees and corporate staff to get involved supporting this worthwhile cause in fundraising, volunteering and awareness building. Many Fix Auto, Speedy Auto Service and NOVUS Glass locations are in communities without a children’s hospital which makes this partnership all the more important as approximately 65% of Canadians also live outside a city with a children’s hospital. Locally owned and operated Fix Automotive Network shops are committed to giving back to their communities and families.

The Fix Automotive Network is itself a family and understands the positive impact having family close by when a child is undergoing treatment. “Our network of franchise strategic partners and head office staff are committed to helping families during these difficult times,” concluded Leal. “With all our brands across Canada now onboard, I am really looking forward to 2019 and what we can accomplish to support RMHC Canada and the fantastic work they do.”

The RMHC network of programs in Canada helps to keep more than 25,000 families close to their sick child and the care they need each year. The 15 Ronald McDonald Houses provide out-of-town families with a home to stay at while their child is being treated at a nearby hospital, while the 16 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide a comfortable place for families to rest and recharge, right inside hospitals. Through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, basic medical care is available to underserved communities in Alberta. For more information visit www.rmhc.ca.
