FIX AUTO TEAM RAISES $39,000 FOR RMHC IN 2017
The Fix Auto Canada team comes together in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) Canada.
BLAINVILLE (Quebec), December 21, 2017 – Steve Leal, President and CEO of Fix Auto World is very proud to share that the Fix Auto family of franchise strategic partners and head office staff, along with some of their supply and insurance partners, have come together to raise $39,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities® Canada in 2017.
“For our team, giving back to our communities is a year-long commitment,” said Leal. “I am extremely proud of the efforts our team has made this year to support RMHC.” Fix Auto became a national partner of RMHC in June 2016 and since then has hosted numerous fundraising events and initiatives from golf tournaments and silent auctions, to needed gifts donated directly to the 15 Ronald McDonald Houses and 16 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms across the country.
“Our goal is to keep families of sick children close; close to each other and close to the care they need, so we’re immensely grateful to the Fix Auto community for all of their generous support,” said Kate Horton, Executive Director, RMHC Canada.
This partnership establishes RMHC Canada as the charity of choice for Fix Auto and encourages franchise strategic partners, their employees and corporate staff to get involved and help keep families together when a child is undergoing medical treatment. Many Fix Auto locations are in communities without a children’s hospital which makes this partnership all the more important as roughly 70% of Canadians also live outside a city with a children’s hospital. Locally owned and operated Fix Auto shops are committed to giving back to their communities and families. Recently, the Fix Auto Allen Expressway team, located in Toronto, donated $500 to their local RMHC. “As we have the holiday season upon us, I felt it would be a great time to donate to a cause that helps families that are not as fortunate as some of us and hope this encourages other Fix Auto shops to donate as well,” said Gerry Shelly, Shop Manager.
Yves Roy, General Manager Fix Auto Québec, had the opportunity to deliver gifts from the Fix Auto team to the Ronald McDonald House in Montreal recently. “The experience was overwhelming for myself and our team,” said Roy. “Seeing the positive spirit of all the families there and the amazing facility and support they receive from RMHC is truly inspiring and we are so proud to be a part of it.”
The need is high for RMHC’s services with over 2,282 families being turned away last year due to lack of space. Fix Auto will continue their partnership so more families can be together in their time of need. “I can’t wait to see what our team can accomplish in the upcoming year,” concluded Leal. “We’ve got some great initiatives being launched to both inspire and encourage our teams to raise even more funds and gifts for this extremely important organization.”
