About

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Estimator to join our high-volume, insurance-focused automotive panel shop. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in collision repair estimating and insurance assessment. You will be trained in insurer repair processes, estimating systems, and customer liaison while working closely with experienced estimators and production staff.

Full training will be provided — prior estimating or insurance experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with vehicle damage assessments for insurance repairs
• Learn to prepare accurate estimates in line with insurer guidelines and repair methodologies
• Use industry estimating systems such as Audanet, iBodyshop, and Partscheck
• Capture and upload damage photos and supporting documentation
• Communicate with insurance assessors, repair networks, and customers
• Assist with supplementary estimates and variations
• Monitor repair progress and ensure insurer approvals are obtained
• Maintain accurate job files and comply with insurer and workplace compliance requirements
• Support workflow scheduling to meet insurer KPIs and repair timeframes

About You

• Strong interest in the automotive repair and insurance industry
• High attention to detail and ability to follow set processes
• Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Comfortable working with computers, estimating systems, and digital photos
• Organised, reliable, and eager to learn
• Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced, insurance-driven environment
• Automotive trade background, estimating experience, or insurance exposure highly regarded but not essential
